Not to be confused with laser, light therapy was originally developed to fast-track the healing of wounds and post surgery scars. The absorption of the light is the fuel that the cell uses to do its job. The fibroblast cells in the dermis layer have the job of producing collagen (which give the skin fullness or that plumped look) and elastin (which give the skin the ability to bounce back). Thus, LED gives the cells a ‘full tank of fuel’ and these fibroblast cells start to produce collagen and elastin like when one was 20-25 years old.Different wavelengths ( or colours) penetrate to different depths on the dermis, to stimulate or reduce inflammation. This wonderful healing LED light therapy is great for post treatment, or on on its own a skin boost and can be done up to 2 times a week. It consists of 2 different light treatments:
Red Light Therapy – for healing the skin. Great for sensitive skins to heal and repair. Helps with post inflammatory conditions and reduces redness. Yellow Light Therapy – Helps stimulate collagen, great for clients that have prematurely aging skin.
